Developing Basic IT Skills - Pre Employment Course

Is this the course for me?

Whether you are new to computing or have some experience, this course will help you develop a fundamental understanding of computers. The courses help you learn the essential skills to begin computing with confidence, be more productive at home and at work, stay safe online, use technology to complement your lifestyle, and consider careers where you can put your skills to work.

What will I do on the course?

You will work using a wide selection of activities and materials such as CDs, DVDs, and computers to help you learn. You will also have individual help when needed from your tutor to keep you on track.

What will I learn?

The course covers units that include: Describing the importance of computers in today's world, describe how computers are used at home, identify the benefits of using the Internet, identify the monitor, keyboard, and mouse, describe the mouse and its types, explain how to hold the mouse correctly, Perform the click functions of the mouse, use of the keyboard etc.
