Developing Skills to work in a school - Pre Employment Course

Is this the course for me?

Are you are currently unemployed and enjoy working with children? Are you interested in encouraging their amazing talents? If you think you could work well under a qualified teacher then this is the course for you.

This 3-5 day course will give you a fantastic insight into how this job role functions.

What will I do on the course?

You will work in pairs, alone and in groups and a use a wide selection of activities and materials such as CDs, DVDs, and computers to help you learn. You will also have individual help when needed from your tutor to keep you on track.

What will I learn?

You will learn a number of areas including: The basics of providing the skills suitable to the role of a classroom support person, creating ideas when participating in a wide range of classroom support activities, the essentials on supporting the Teacher, supporting the pupil, supporting the curriculum and supporting the school.

How will I benefit?

Well for starters you will have a qualification in Support Teaching which will stand you in good stead when applying for these roles with a potential employer. Added to this a vast knowledge on the role itself and what will be expected of you if choosing this career path.

Do I need any qualifications beforehand?

There are no formal qualifications, but an interview and assessment will take place to determine the correct level for you before you start.

What can I do next?

Your confidence will soar and help you break down barriers to learning, job hunting or promotion and pave the way for a better life. When in employment you can progress onto a level 2.
